Gurudev says, “I know your heart. Sometimes better than you do.”
I remember being at an event with Gurudev, in New York City. After the event, I started to drive back home, when I got a phone call from a friend. He told me to go to a certain address and that “something” might be going on there. I was a bit confused but decided to go anyway.
Surprisingly, it turned out that there was a relatively small gathering of 20 to 30 people, with Gurudev at someone’s apartment. I was both excited and nervous while waiting in the apartment. And then, Gurudev emerged from a room.
Even though I had seen Him before, I had never introduced myself and told Him my name. So, this time, I wanted to introduce myself formally to Him. I remember Him walking and talking to people in the apartment, but passing right by me. I felt a little upset that He didn’t notice me at all. But then, all of a sudden, He turned around and looked directly at me.
I was caught off guard and froze. He asked me, “You have something to tell me?”. It seemed He clearly knew what was going on in my mind. Though nervous, I managed to introduce myself and tell Him that it was very good to see Him in the New York city.
I still feel amazed how He turned around so quickly and looked at me, especially after my thought that He didn’t notice me. Later, that night, we even went on a walk with Him. The whole evening is etched as one of the beautiful memories in my life.
