Jai Gurudev! I’m Anushka from New Delhi.
About seven years ago, I was going through some personal issues and inner turmoil. I needed a direction. I wanted to meet Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and unburden myself. I thought it would be great if I could talk to him, but even if I couldn’t , I would keep a letter handy to give it to him. The letter would describe my situation and seek solution to my problems.
When I reached the venue, TOK Noida, where Gurudev was supposed to come, I saw 20 to 30 devotees waiting for him. I felt happy that the place was not yet crowded and I would get to talk to him. So I kept the letter inside my bag.
Gurudev was meeting the assembled gathering and when my turn came, I sat on my knees close to his feet and poured out my heart: ” Gurudev, these things are happening in my life and troubling me. What shall I do?” He gave me a patient hearing and responded compassionately. Since I had opened up fully and got my answers, there was no need to hand over the letter. But Gurudev pointed to my bag and said– “Give me that letter.” I was amazed! How did He know about the letter! It lay neatly folded inside my bag. But within seconds, it dawned on me that Gurudev is omniscient. He knows everything.
Another Guru story I am compelled to share here is, almost a year ago, Gurudev had come to Delhi and I had gone to meet him. I was six months pregnant with my second child. There were about 200 devotees in that hall. I was sitting on a chair, while others were standing in a line behind a rope barricade. The moment Gurudev passed by me, the baby, the unborn child in my womb, made slight movements. It felt like a ripple of energy crawling inside. In fact it was the first movement of the baby inside me. I cannot express how it felt at that moment. It wells up my eyes to think how even the human foetus got drawn by Gurudev’s divine presence and felt the urge to connect with divinity, Gurudev.
Thank you Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji. Jai Gurudev!
