A few days ago, I met with an accident while riding my bike with my wife. A speeding car—going at around 70 km/h—hit us from behind. Later, I came to know the driver was drunk. The impact was so intense that, for a moment, I truly thought it was the end. In that instant, I remembered Gurudev. The bike was thrown at least five meters ahead, and we both fell. Miraculously, there wasn’t even a scratch on my body—not a drop of blood. I stood up within a fraction of a second after the accident. My wife, however, suffered an elbow fracture and had to undergo surgery.
Something major could have happened—especially since she wasn’t even wearing a helmet. I believe her karma manifested as a small suffering instead of something far worse. Had we fallen just two feet to the right, her head could have hit the road divider. Thankfully, there was no life-threatening injury. Even now, I wonder how I escaped without a single injury. In a fall from a two-wheeler, we usually stretch out our hands to break the fall. But in my case, my body didn’t even touch the road.
This is what the Guru does. He takes such loving care of us, often in ways we don’t even realize. Whatever seva, courses, or follow-ups we do—they’re just like a dust particle compared to what He does for our lives.
After completing my Teachers Training Program, I can feel, moment by moment, that Gurudev is with me—watching over me, guiding me. Again and again, this has become so evident. He has saved me many times before, but I hadn’t recognized it until now. This realization came to me deeply during a powerful process in the “Teachers Training Program”.
As a gesture of gratitude, what more can I offer? All I can do is share this small Guru story with you.
Jai Gurudev.
